Firing the First Round

A
  • must be loaded and manually cocked by the charging the bolt to the rear.

Recoil

A
  • bolt is locked to the barrel extension by the breech lock moving 3/4 inch as one unit
  • The Barrel Extension recoils 1 1/8 inches
  • The Bolt Recoils 7 1/8 inches

  • as the bolt moves rear ward the extractor pulls a new round out of the belt link moving the round into the T-Slot

  • happens immediately after firing

A
  • after recoil the bolt is forced forward by the energy stored in the drive spring, buffer tube discs, and recoil buffer assembly
  • forcing the Bolt, Barrel, and Barrel extension back into battery.
