Two types
Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL)
Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) sx
enlarged lymph nodes that are firm and rubbery, severe pruritus, jaundice, night sweats, fatigue, and malaise, weight loss, slight fever, alcohol-induced pain, cough, dyspnea and chest pain
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL)
malignant tumor of lymphoid tissue, resulting from an invasion of the lymph nodes and other tissues by lymphocytes
Burkitt’s lymphoma
originates from a B lymphocyte and requires chemo. Associated with prior infection with Epstein-Barr virus
Enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL)
rare form of high-grade T-cell NHL of upper small intestine that is specifically associated with celiac disease. strict adherence to gluten free diet protects against NHL.
Sx of NHL
difficulty breathing, swelling of face, thickened or dark, itchy skin areas, increased incidence of bacterial infections, night sweats, weight loss, fevere, anemia, and pleural effusion

doxorubicin
nivcristine
prednisone
