Deep Parotid, Retropharyngeal cannot be palpated
NECK: Superficial Nodes
Submental, Submandibular, External Jugular, Anterior Jugular
NECK: Deep Nodes
Superior Deep, Inferior Deep, Accessory Nodes
*CAN be palpated
Facial Subgroups
Malar [eye], Nasolabial [nose], Buccal [cheek], Mandibular
Superficial HEAD Drains To:
Superior Deep Cervical
Except occipital- inferior deep
CERVICAL drainage pattern
Submental > Submandibular > Superior Deep Cervical > Inferior Deep Cervical > Jugular Trunk [efferent vessels] > Right Lymphatic Duct OR Thoracic Duct [left]
Mandibular Incisor drain from:
Submental
All other teeth drain from:
Submandibular
Maxillary 3rd Molars drain from:
Superior Deep Cervical
Thoracic Duct
drains entire lower half of the body plus left side of head/neck, left arm and thorax
Right Lymphatic Duct
drains right side of head/neck, right arm and thorax
Adnoids =
Pharyngeal Tonsil
Superior Deep Cervical =
Jugulodigastric.
Sore throat = lymphadenopathy
Inferior Deep Cervical =
Jugulo-omohyoid
