largest; encapsulated; 25% volume; Mixed, mainly serous
Stenson’s Duct
duct associated with Parotid; pierces buccinator muscle > parotid papilla
7th Cranial Nerve
[facial nerve] travels through Parotid, doesn’t innervate

Submandibular Salivary Gland
2nd largest; encapsulated; 60-65% volume!; Mixed serous/mucous; POSTERIOR submandibular fossea
Warton’s Duct
associated with Submandibular Gland; opens into sublingual caruncle
Submandibular Pathology
stones due to long, winding ducts; blockages
Sublingual Salivary Gland
smallest; unencapsulated; Mixed mostly mucous; ANTERIOR to submandibular gland
Bartholin Duct
short; associated with Sublingual Glands
Minor Salivary Glands
exocrine; smaller; more numerous; scattered in oral cavity; Mixed mostly mucous
