Describe sporadic bovine leukosis (SBL)
- <4yrs old
- 3 forms= cutaneous, thymic and multicentric
- no treatment
- poor prognosis
Describe enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL)
- notifiable
- caused by bovine leukaemia virus- oncogenic retrovirus
- horizontal transmission
- found mainly in dairy cows
- infected for life animals
- signs in adult animals >2 yrs
clinical signs= weight loss, milk drop, neuro signs
Describe squamous cell carcinomas
- non pigmented white faces- herefords
- often bilateral
- mets to LN and lungs
- can be locally excised or cryotherapy
Describe papillomas
- young animals
- very common
- can be removed
Describe granulosa cell tumours
- present as not detected in oestrus

What are some poisoning treatment principles?
- remove from source
- antidote if available
- offer alternative feeding
- fluids, NSAID, charcoal
- rumenotomy if acute
- sedation if severe neuro signs- seizures
