- crossrail opened in 2018, and increased Londons transport capacity by 10%, which eases congestion and encourages regeneration
- ‘Workplace’ has been introduced in Newham and has lifted 20,000 Newham residents into employment since 2007. has also helped over 900 businesses fill their vacancies.

- in order to target the urban heat island, targets have been set to increase green cover in central london by 5% by 2030

- role of London Mayor created in 1999 by greater London authroity act and is part of the aim to restore a city wide government for London
- Mayors are important as they ensure the city has a strong voice and can attract investment from home and abroad. increased powers include planning, transport, employment, economic development and health and policing.
