What is absolute location?
A
Mathematical. Exact spot
Latitude, Longitude, Coordinates
(i.e. latitude is the measurement of the angular distance of a point on the Earth’s surface, measured in degrees, minutes, and seconds, north or south from the equator)

What is relative location?
A
- The place where something is in comparison to something else
- Described by landmarks, time, direction or distance from one place to another and may associate a particular place with another

What is cognitive?
A
It is a mental map. A person’s personal point-of-view perception of their world

What are the three ways that humans interact with the environment?

- Human adaptation to the environment.
- Human modification to the environment

How do geographers study movement?
A
- Systems - a pattern of routes that connect places together (i.e. highway or river system, a container freight system)
- Flow - the volume of people, products, information, and other things that move along a system
