Little Albert case study two process model Flashcards
1
Q
Who created the little Albert case study?
A
Watson and Rayner in the 1920’s
2
Q
What was the aim of the study?
A
to demonstrate that emotional responses could be learned through classical conditioning
3
Q
What were the procedures of the experiment?
A
- at the beginning of the experiment little Albert was presented with a white little rat
- Watson then presented the rat with a loud bang that startled little Albert and made him cry
- after the continuous association of the white rat and the loud noise little Albert was classically conditioned to experience fear at the sight of the rat
- Albert’s fear generalised other stimuli that were similar to the rat including cotton wool and a fur coat and other white furry objects
4
Q
what were the findings of the experiment?
A
Little Albert was classically conditioned to experience fear at the sight of rats
5
Q
Using little Albert’s study, explain classical conditioning in terms of the UCS,UCR,NS,CS and CR
A
Noise = UCS creating UCR = fear Rat = NS associated with fear Rat = CS to produce CR
