A

Steady Fault Light: Fault in IR/IR Lost
Flashing Fault Light: Attitude/Heading may be recovered.
IRs give you:
- F: FPV (Flt Path Vector)
- A: Aircraft Position
- T: Track
- H: Heading
- A: Attitude
- A: Acceleration
- G: Ground Speed

OFF: Illuminates when inertial data output is disconnected

A

ADR Data Produced:
- B: Baro ALT
- O: Overspeed Warning
- A: AOA
- T: Temp

ELAC 1 (Elevator Aileron Computer)

A

ELAC: Normal Pitch/Roll, Alternate Pitch/LAF (if installed), Direct Pitch/Roll, Abnormal Attitude, Aileron Droop, Acquisition of Autopilot orders.
-ELAC Fault: Fault is detected/only 8 seconds during power up if it’s a good test.

A

SEC: Normal Roll, Speed-brakes/GND Spoilers, Alternate/Direct Pitch (SEC 1/2 only), Direct Roll, Alternate Load Alleviation Function (LAF) if Installed, Abnormal Attitude.
-SEC Fault Light: Fault in the system

-FAC: Gives us Speed tape symbology; F, S, Green Dot, Low Energy Warning, Wind Shear Protection
Flying the Tail: Turn Coordination, Yaw Damping, Rudder Trim, Rudder Travel Limits.

GEN 1 Line PB

A

-Off; Disconnects GEN1 from electrical system. AC Bus1 powered by GEN2 through bus tie line contactors
-Smoke Light, Smoke detected in Avionics Compartment
-Blower/Extract Fans PB will also show Fault
-PB, Isolates GEN for the #1 fuel pumps in the left/right wing tanks

RAT & EMER GEN/(Fault Light)

A

-EMER GEN is not supplying PWR but it should be, AC Bus 1/2 not PWRD
-Lift guard and push the button for electrical power only
-RAT Auto Deploy: >100kts w/loss of AC Bus 1/2, 8 seconds to deploy; will revert to BATT PWR.
-RAT powers: AC/DC ESS; AC/DC ESS SHED
-Provides 2500psi for Blue HYD
-On BATT; PFD1, and EWD on
On RAT; PFD1, ND1, EWD, MCDU1
125-140kts: RAT STALLS; Loss of ND/MCDU 1
<50kts after landing; Loss of AC ESS and all screens go blank. Available Emergency PWR. Outflow valve, APU fire protection, VHF 1.

TERR GPWS/SYS PB (Fault Lights)

A

-TERR PB Fault light; Terrain Data base is lost, You will still have basics modes of the GPWS system (To Low Flaps, To Low Gear, and Terrain Recognition).

  • SYS Fault; Lost all modes including GPWS
    MODE1: “Sink Rate”
    MODE2: “Terrain,Terrain”
    MODE3: “DON’T SINK”
    MODE4: “Too Low FLAPS/GEAR”
    MODE5: “Glide Slope,” deviation

APU Master SW; ON/FAULT

A

-ON; ECB (Electronic Control Box) PWR-up TEST is initiated, APU Air Inlet Opens, Pressurizing Fuel pump, Fuel Isolation Valve Opens, If External PWR or Main GEN is on; APU SYS Page is displayed.
-OFF; Light extinguishes and shuts down after 2 min cooldown.
-Fault Light; Fire (on the ground only) or Shutdown was Abnormal:
- DC PWR lost, BATTs PB off on BATT PWR only
- Air inlet flap closed
- Inlet overheat
- No Acceleration
- No Speed
- Under-speed
- Slow Start
- Overspeed
- Loss of Overspeed protection
- Overcurrent
- No Flame
- Reverse flow
- Low oil Pressure
- High Oil Temperature
- Clogged oil Filter

LDG ELEV AUTO Rotary Switch

A

-Gets Landing Elevation from FMGC
-Must take it out of Auto if destination in not in Data Base/Data Base in incorrect or ECAM or Abnormal procedure tells you to do so
-Still get auto pressurization regardless of position, Only changes the schedule to when the Outflow valve opens

  • SYS in Auto will close Outflow valve, Emergency Ram air inlet, Avionics Inlet/Extract valves, Pack-flow CNTRL valves.
  • MODE SEL must go to Manual CNTRL, Outflow Valve now CNTRL by “MAN V/S CTL switch (Up to open, Down to Close).

FUEL System Notes
Engine start from respective INNER, Burn from Center 2 minutes after both engine start, Switches to INNER when slats are extended, Switches to CTR when slats retracted Switches to inner (F) burns 1100 lbs then to CTR down to 550 LBS, runs 5 min, then INNER. Continues until either INNER reaches 1650lbs then transfer valves open for the rest of the flight (close at refueling).
