liberal feminism is reformists in its approach focusing on
achieving gender equality through gradual change rather than a radical restructuring of society
because liberal feminists focuses on securing legal and political equality for women in the public sphere
by advocating for equal rights and opportunities that men already have so that women can participate equally in the economy politics and educational environments
liberal feminism wasn’t completely blind to the private sphere and did highlight
violence against women and oppressive divorce laws
but its focus was more on the
public sphere and wasn’t as radical as later strands of feminism
liberal feminists saw the end goal as
removing discrimination and inequality under the law so that women can can participate equally in the public sphere
key reforms they promoted included
the right to vote
equal access to education
equal pay
equal political representation
