A person, thing, or place from which information comes, arises, or is obtained
Information Source
Refers to the original information created by a local group of people
Indigenous Media and Information Sources
First hand accounts of research or an event including original scholarly research results, raw data, testimony, speeches, historic objects or other evidence that provides unique and original information about a person or an event.
These sources were created at the time which the observation or event occurred but can also be created later by an eyewitness.
Primary Sources
Analyze, synthesize, evaluate, and interpret primary sources. They are created after an event has occurred and are written by someone who did not experience or observe the event first hand.
Secondary Sources
Provides broad overviews or condensed narratives of topics. They analyze and summarize the information in primary and secondary sources in order to provide background on a idea, event, or topic.
Tertiary Sources
Is a place set apart to contain books, periodicals, and other material for reading, viewing, listening, study of reference, set of rooms, or building where books may be read or borrowed.
Library
It houses general encyclopedic works including dictionaries, almanacs, atlases, directories, handbooks, manuals, indexes and abstracts, etc.
General Reference
It houses all local and foreign journals, magazines, newspapers, government publications and other forms of serial publication, vertical files such as pamphlets, brochures and newspaper clippings.
Periodical Section
It houses the main collection of the library. Books on Philosophy, Religion, Social Sciences, Language, Arts, Pure Science, Applied Science, Literature, History, and Geography.
General Collection/Circulation Section
It houses books published within the Philippines and written about the Philippines, its history, people, government, and culture.
Filipiniana Section
It houses thesis and dissertation books, law books, and other rare collections.
Special Collection
A vast computer network linking smaller computer networks worldwide. It includes commercial, educational, governmental, and other networks, all of which use the same set of communications protocols.
