- Produced in times of fear/ stress.
- By the adrenal glands.

What effect does adreneline have on the body?
A
- It increases heart rate and boosts the delivery of glucose and oxygen to the brain and muscles, preparing the body for “fight or flight.”

Where is thyroxine produced?
What does thyroxine control in the body?
A
- Thyroxine is produced in the thyroid gland.
- Thyroxine stimulates basal metabolic rate/ plays an important role in growth and development.

What is the general idea behind a “negative feedback cycle?”
A
- As a certain substance (ie. thryoxine) in the blood decreases, the body will work to increase that substance.
- As a certain substance (ie. thyroxine) in the blood INCREASES, the body will work to decrease that substance.
