What is observational learning?
The process of learning new responses by watching the behaviour of another
Which four things are required for observational learning?
Attention

What is need for achievement? (n Ach)
An assumed basic human need to strive for achievement of goals that motivates a wide range of behaviour and thinking
What is expectancy theory?
A theory which proposes that workers are motivated when they expect their efforts to result in desired outcomes
What is reciprocal determinism?
A complex reciprocal interaction exists between an individual, their behaviour and environmental stimuli
What is self efficacy?
The belief that one can perform adequately in a given situation
What is the covariation model?
People attribute a behaviour to a causal factor if that factor was present whenever the behaviour occurred but was absent when it didn’t
What is fundamental attribution error?
People underestimate the impact of situational factors to influence a person’s behaviour
What is self-serving bias?
People take credit for their successes and deny responsibility for their failures
What is vicarious conditioning?
Observing how another person is rewarded or punished for a certain behaviour
What three things does imitation of a model’s behaviour depend on?
Prestige of the model
Likability and attractiveness of the model
Whether the model was rewarded or punished for their behaviour
What is social cognition?
Process by which people remember, select and interpret social information
What is the locus of control?
Is the expectancy as to whether or not fate determines outcomes in life
