child sacrifice was a pagan ritual commonly practiced in the cultures at the time. When God asked for Abrahm to do it he was doing it to test him.Child sacrifice was a common practice in the ANE. The bible prohibits child sacrifice. In Abarham’s case,it was an issue of his faith, not the practice of sacrifice.
