There is a cultural obsession with food and food intake; e.g. huge numbers of dieters (44% of US women) - but it’s obesity that has soared (30+% in US)
NHS stats: In 2009, almost a quarter of adults (22% men, 24% women aged ≥16) in England classified as obese (BMI ≥ 30). Welsh Birth Cohort of 42-year-old men (2013): 46% overweight, including 26% obese.
