  • Stress effects brain structure and function
  • Physiologically, stress can be functional- but to a point!
  • Significant individual differences in the management and regulation of stress
  • PTSD can be a debilitating disorder
  • Many psychological, biological, social and environmental risk factors for PTSD
  • There should be a greater focus of protective factors/resilience
  • HPA system has been a target for research which has produced some promising as well as contradictory findings – more replication is needed!
