Lecture 6 - Linear Kinematics in Two Dimension (Part 2) Flashcards
1
Q
How can you analyze 2D motion?
A
By using a camera set perpendicular to plane of motion
2
Q
What is a resultant?
A
A vector that is equivalent to the combined effect of two or more vectors. Magnitude or length of the resulting vector
3
Q
What are the components (in terms of vectors)?
A
Parts of a resultant vector. Two or more vectors that are acting in different directions
4
Q
How can you compute a resultant if the components are known?
A
Pythagorean theorem
5
Q
What is a projectile?
A
Any body that is in the air. Airborne body that is only subjected to gravity and wind resistance after it has left the ground.
6
Q
What is a trajectory?
A
The path of a projectile
