Lecture 5 Flashcards
Role of BosR and PlzA in the cycle
BosR is required for transcription of rpoS and downstream RpoS-dependent facets of host adaptation. BosR represses tick-phase genes
PlzA is the antagonist of Rpos-mediated repressions of tick phase genes. PlzA is essential for ticks as it the the principle driver of function in ticks and the transition to the mammalian host. PlzA represses BosR and skewed the RpoS regulon towards a tick-phase trnascriptional profile
