Q

What is the difference between transudate and exudate ?

A

Transudate is the typical mix of fluid and electrolytes that comes out of the microcirculation.
Exudate is plasma protein rich fluid that comes out of the microcirculation due to increased permeability + higher blood flow (as a result vasoactive mediators released during inflammation.)
