Q

What is hypersensitivity type 1?

A

A reaction to an allergen that triggers IgE to degranulate mast cells, and provokes an inflammatory + immune reaction.
There is a genetic predisposition to this, where the barriers of the epidermis is compromised due to abnormal junctions, secretions and filaments.
