What are the two types of common breast cancers ?
Ductal carcinoma in situ (most common).
Lobular carcinoma in situ (2nd most common)
Where do most metastasis from breast and prostate cancer go ?
Lungs, Bones, Liver
Where is breast cancer most commonly found ?
In the upper outer quadrant.
What is the treatment in breast cancer for HER2 (GF) over expression?
Monoclonal antibody against HER2, in order to slow down tumor progression.
What are the risk factors for breast cancer ?
Increased fat intake. Abdominal fat (apple shape) Weight gain during menopause. Alcohol consumption (2 drinks/day) Lack of exercise (<4 hrs day)
What is the hormonal escape of prostate cancer ?
When prostate tumours become independent from androgens.
What is Prostate Specific Antigen used for ?
Detect presence of prostate tumour.
Monitor the growth of prostate tumour.
Monitor the effectiveness of brachytherapy.
What is brachytherapy?
Insertion of radioactive capsule in the site of the tumour.
When does prostate cancer peak ?
65-69 Yrs old.
When does testicular cancer peak ?
Early 20s.
