A
Inhibits pancreatic and gastric lipases which leads to fatty diarrhoea

When should Orlistat be used
A
Where diet, physical exercise and behavioural changes are supported
Patients with BMI >28kg/m
Should only be continued beyond 12 weeks if patient has lost 5% of initial body weight
