Cutaneous nerves of the thigh
A
- ilioinguinal nerve (L1): small area of skin below medial end if the inguinal ligament
- genitiofemoral nerve (L1-2): femoral branch enters the femoral sheath, lateral to femoral artery, pierces the sheath and fascia latae and supplies skin over femoral triangle
- medial cutaneous nerve of the thigh (branch of femoral nerve) supplies skin on medial side of thigh
- anterior cutaneous nerves- supplies skin on front of thigh (down to knee)
- lateral femoral cutaneous nerve if the thigh (L2-L3): supplies the anterolateral and posterolateral surfaces of the thigh
- superficial branch of obturator nerve: supply medial aspect of thigh
- posterior cutaneous nerve: branch of sacral plexus- supplies posterior aspect of the thigh

These 2 layers are superficial to the deep fascia of the thigh: fascia latae
