Project Planning
plan, manage and monitor activities keeping time under controls, taking account the characteristics of the project
Programmes
Result of the planning process, creating a sequence of activities and their durations/relations to each other
Master Project Programme
Design programme + Construction programme + Other activities (site investigations, planning approvals)
Critical Path
path through activities giving the earliest completion time, determines project duration
Float
Amount of time an activity can be delayed without adverse affects
Free Float
Max time completion can exceed earlist finish time without impact succeeding task
Activity Float
“Spare Time”
Total Float
Max time completion can exceed earliest finish time without impact project duration
Terminal Float
Difference between contracted completion and contractor planned completion
Impact on Programme
- Delay (late start)
- Prolongation (longer to complete)
- Disruption (effected by separate activity/event)
