what is a cancer survivor
an individual is considered a cancer survivor from the time of diagnosis, through the balance of his or her life
What is cancer survivorship
focuses on the health and wellbeing of a person with cancer from the time of diagnosis until the end of life… follow up care, late effects of treatment, cancer recurrence, second cancers, quality of life…. Family members, friends, and caregivers are also considered part of the survivorship experience
upon completion of active cancer treatments cancer survivors may still experience symptoms such as
nausea, vomiting, pain, insomnia, depression, anxiety
