Q

How long does it take for the therapeutic effects of PTU and Methimazole to be observed and why?

A

About 3-4 weeks bc they block TPO, and thus the synth of T4 and T3, but there are huge stores of T4 and T3 in the thyroid that take 3-4 weeks to deplete.
