Identities are socially constructed; identify & value certain characteristics more - creating in & out groups
Can be derived from many different factors which confers unearned, and largely unacknowledged benefits, based on demographic make-up
Intersectionality
Everyone has a constellation of different identities, and thus often a mixture of privilege and disadvantages
Neo-racism
The belief that antagonism between one bounded community and another is natural/ inevitable
