Learning: Observational Learning Flashcards
1
Q
Observational Learning
A
= learning new behaviours or information by watching and imitating others
- “modeling” is our capacity to learn by watching others
2
Q
AR3
A
- Attention = pay attention and observe the modeled behaviour
- Retain = mentally represent & retain observations
- Reproduce = convert mental representations into actions & be physically capable of reproducing
- Reinforcement = reinforcement influences motivation
3
Q
Acquisition & Performance
A
- Acquisition = the response by which the behaviour is learned by observation
- Performance = the process by which the observer acts out the newly learned response
acquiring a skill > practice > improved performance
