Lear 45 TCAS Ice protection Flashcards
What does an amber ice detect message mean on the CAS?
Ice has been detected but the anti icing systems are not on.
What does a white ice detected message mean on the CAS?
Ice has been detected and the anti icing systems are already on.
Does the ice detect system work on the ground?
No, it is suppressed on the ground.
What has electric de ice on the Lear
Windshields, pitot static probes, engine inlet probe, AOA/stall warning vanes, and the TAT (total air temp) probe.
What does an amber NAC light mean?
The NAC valves are open but there is not enough bleed air getting to them.
What is the normal windshield temp? What happens when the windshield heat is degraded?
Between 80 and 110. If the system is degraded it will cycle between 70 and 125 degrees F.
What is the normal position of the Wing Stab PRSOV’s?
Normally closed, have to be powered open.
If one of the anti-ice PRSOV’s fails what will happen to the wing and stab heat on that side?
It will get heat from the opposite side PRSOV so that heat will remain even across the wings/stab.
Can the total air temperature probe be powered on the ground?
No. It is connected to the WOW switch and will only be heated once airborne.
How many KVA are the windshield heat alternators?
5 KVA each and 200 VAC
What is the outer layer of the windshield made of?
Glass
If both generators fail what will happen to the Wing and Stab heat?
It will fail because even though it is heated by HP bleed air the controller Wing/Stab bleed air is a DC 28 volt unit which would no longer work.
If one channel of the ECS Temperature Controller fails will both sides of the Wing/Stab heat still work?
Yes.
At what temperature is the wing and stab leading edge regulated?
140 degrees
If both generators fail which of the pitot heats continues to stay warm?
The standby pitot tube.
