Lear 45 Fuel System Flashcards
How many jet transfer pumps are in each wing?
Six - four to move the fuel inboard to the collector tank; a fifth pump pull fuel from the fuselage tank to the wing tanks; a sixth pump (main jet pump) inside the collector tank to transfer fuel to the engine driven fuel pump
How much less fuel is in the LR40
102 gallons to account for the center-of-gravity limitations. But the same size tank as on the Lear 45.
How many gallons are in the wing collector tanks?
20 gallons
At what point does the collector tank trigger a L or R FUEL BAY LOW light on the CAS?
When the fuel level is below 80% full in the collector tank.
What will happen to the crossflow valve in a complete electrical failure?
It will fail to it’s last position.
What 5 things are the standby pumps used for?
- Engine start
- APU operation
- Backup to main jet pumps
- Wing to Wing fuel transfer
- Defueling
Where are the FWSOV?
Center wing section
In a total electrical failure what will be the position of the FWSOV?
Last position at failure since it is a DC motor driven valve.
At what psi will the CAS indicate a L/R FUEL PRESS LOW message?
When pressure drops below 1 psi.
How many sumps are on the Lear 45?
13 - nine in the belly and four underneath the wings
How much fuel does the Lear 45 carry?
1678 lbs in each wing tank and 2708 lbs in the fuselage tank. Total of 904 gallons.
How much pressure is allowed for refueling?
Between 20 and 55 psi if the aircraft was modified by SB 45-28-2. If not it is up to 40 psi.
How quickly should the fuel shut off when using the Refueling precheck valve?
20 seconds
