what is effective leadership?
working with others to bring about change that results in improvements
what are the issues around effective leadership definition?
improved outcomes is not the only result, may change depending on followers and situation, these are not only ways to be effective leader and may not be a need for change
what is transformational leadereship?
where the leader inspires, encourages and motivates the employees to create and innovate change that will grow and shape the future of the company

intellectual stimulation, individualised consideration, inspirational motivation and idealised influence

what is situational leadership?
the most successful leaders are those that adapt their leadership style to the performance readiness (ability and willingness) of the individual or group they are leading or influencing

what is relationship behaviour?
the extent to which a leader engages in a two way communication for socioemotional support, psychological stroke and facilitating behaviours
what is shared leadership?
it is an activity that is distributed among members of a team that underpins the way it works - it is a dynamic and interactive process in groups that is designed to lead each other to goals
what is the key difference between traditional leadership and shared?
in traditional there is one position of leadership whereas in shared it is about everyone leading each other - group are centralised in hands of single individual
