What is a autocratic style of leadership?
The leader makes all the decision and they dictate instructions. It is a style that is task orientated and is concerned with results.
What is a democratic style of leadership?
The leader listens to the group before making a decision. It is person orientated and is concerned with individual success/wellbeing. Concerned with interpersonal relationships.
What is a Laissez faire style of leadership?
Leader has little input. Led by senior players, less motivated players can stop working.
What does Fiedlers contingency model include?
Autocratic (desirable): clear task, group get on, strong leader, respect for leader, high ability, high motivation
Democratic: some support, some harmony some clarity, time to discuss, moderate motivation, reasonable ability
Autocratic (non desirable): Unclear task, hostile group, weak leader, little respect for leader, low ability, low motivation, little support for group members
