Golden Section
1:1.618, ideal proportion. dividing a line in two unequal parts, smaller (A) and larger (B)…A:B=B:(A+B)
Fibonacci series
mathematical basis of the Golden Section. 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233…. the next number derived from the sum of the two previous ones.
design grid (construction grid)
organizes the design area; divides the area being designed in such a way that the type area consists of a grid of fields (grid fields), in which all the stylistic elements concerned (text/illustrations) can be arranged. easier to design clearly, consistently, and with an eye to continuity. 960px grid is popular (can be divided in many ways). can be constructed on basis of Fibonacci series.

baseline grid
Baseline grids serve to anchor all (or nearly all) layout elements to a common rhythm. Create a baseline grid by choosing the typesize and leading of your text, such as 10-pt Scala Pro with 12 pts leading (10/12). Adjust the top or bottom page margin to absorb any space left over by the baseline grid. bgs help set lines of text to the correct register (“keeping to the register”). rule: only the basic text is set to the grid.
