What is it?
A
No atoms are created or destroyed in a chemical reaction. Instead they join together to form the products, which means that the total mass of products will be the same as the total mass of reactants.

Closed System
A
No substances can enter or leave a closed system. This can be done through a seal stopper on a flask etc.
All products and reactants stay in the beaker, so the mass will be the same as none can escape.
