A

merging lots of law and acts into one single act
-eg, Powers of criminal courts (sentencing) Act 2000, So simplifying sentences and setting tariffs for crimes, tariffs mean minimum and maximum sentences

  • get rid of old law poorly constructed law, so identify any old acts are no longer used
