How do we measure Minerals? what is the unit of measurement?

• the amount required per animal daily (g, mg, mcg). mcg or ug = microgram
• percent or amount per weight unit of diet = Ca and P
  = Major minerals generally expressed as percentage
  = Trace minerals generally expressed as milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), which is the equivalent of part per million
