Lang Gear Brakes Flashcards
How does Alternate Gear Extension work?
the doors and unlocks are released electrically, allowing airflow and gravity to extend the gear
When does body steering gear activate and deactivate?
- below 20 knots and greater than 20 degrees nose wheel steering on taxi- deactivates above 20 knots- after landing and decelerating, activates at less than 15 knots and greater than 20 degrees nose wheel steering
How many degrees of travel does rudder pedal steering provide?
7
What would cause the gear lever not to come up?
NAME?
What is the primary and secondary brake source?
primary- HYD #4secondary- HYD #1 & 2
If selected, when does RTO activate?
- aircraft on ground- groundspeed > 85 knots- all thrust levers closed
If hydraulic system 1 fails is there a backup for body gear steering?
No
When would we do an alternate gear extension? How does the alternate gear extension work?
No pressure in hyd 1 or 4Or Gear disagree (some up, some down)Electrical motors remove up locks allow gear to free fall.
Which system powers the normal brakes?Which systems back it up?Will the accumulator be able to stop the airplane?
System 4 powers normal brakesSystems 1&2 are backupsAccumulator cannot stop plane
With alternate ANTISKID, what wheel pairs are paired together?
Front and back of each truck(tandem)
What is a strong caution to remember with the parking brake?
If the accumulator pressure is in or near the amber band, the PARKING BRAKE SET indication still shows in the EICAS but they brake is NOT set!!!!!
When will the BRAKE SOURCE light illuminate on the Captains panel?
When you lose pressure on systems 1,2&4.At that time, you can only use accumulator pressure to set the brakes.
When do AUTOBRAKES become avaualable on takeoff?
85 kts
Whenever ANTISKID OR ANTISKID OFF is displayed, what other braking system is inop?
AUTOBRAKES
BRAKE LIMITER
2 or more brake torque limiters fail on a truckHeavy braking could exceed gear design limit. It can also mean park brake was released and park brake valve failed to open fully.
