- Bhavani
There are 20 names starting from Bhavani and these together are called Sambhavi Vidya. Bhavani means Pranadhara Shakti, as She is the giver of life( Manmada was revived back to life by Amma when Rati Devi prayed fervently to Her, when he was turned into ashes by Lord Shiva) Bhava is Shiva Bhavuni wife Bhavani is Shakthi #9 is considered auspicious in Devi Navrana Pooja. Devi Navrana pooja is done in Sri Chakram and during Navarathri time. If aspirant practices on Parabrahmam, Shiva, Bhavani ( poornathva sankhya 9)great shakti is acquired.
- Bhavanaa Gamyaa
Bhavana : contemplation, cultivating Spirituality Gamyaa : Goal Amma can be achieved by cultivating true intention and contemplation on her name while following the right traditions. Bhavano Upanishad describes SriVidhya. There are many types when in Bhavas; 1. Sabdha (sound) Bhavana, the sound of the mantram 2. Artha(meaning)Bhavana, the meaning of the mantram 3. Brahmi Bhavana is Pooja, Japam, sthothram and doing dhyanam to the idol. 4. Akshara Bhavana, thinking and reciting each letter of the mantram. 5. Maheshwara Bhavana, is when tatwa vicharana( philosophical enquiry) done with roopam(form) and mantram(knowledge) Parabrahma Tatwam is understood. When aspirant is contemplating on God with single pointed focus and with self control, Jeevan Brahmaikya Sthithi is achieved and this is Bhavana Yogam. Devotee should do sadhana with a goal and proper method. Amma will take care of the aspirant when he focuses on the goal and diligently follows the method of sadhana.
- Bhavaaranya Kutarika
Bhava+ aranya+ Kutarika: Bhavaa - worldly existence Aranya - forest Kutarika - axe Samsaram(worldly existence) is filled with desires, attachments etc and is compared to a dense forest filled with thick trees. Amma uses the axe to remove the tress from its roots. When Amma is worshipped with full focus and concentration, She would pull the sadhaka out from the worldly existence(samsaram).
- Bhadrapriyaa
Bhadram : Subham(good) ; Mangalam( auspiciousness) Priyaa - liked, loved Amma likes Subhakaram and Mangalakaram thoughts and words. Amma is the Mangala Swaroopini and She blesses Her devotees with all good fortune. Bhadrudu’s (Shiva) wife is Bhadra( Shakti) Amma always blesses her devotees with good fortune as She is the Sada Sowbhagya Prasad Thalli.
- Bhadramurthi
Bhadramurthi : All Goddesses together in One Form. Amma is the One Goddess comprises of all other Goddesses together. When all the other Goddesses reach this One place, its called the Sarvato Bhadra Mandalam. Bhadram( auspiciousness) is Amma’s prabhavam(effect) and svabhavam(nature). Amma gives us the grace when we worship Her and we should always strive to be in Bhadram state.
- Bhakta Sowbhagya Daayini
Su + Bhagyam = Sowbhagyam( good fortune) Devotees will be blessed with all good fortune when they pray to Amma and no danger can harm them. Taking shelter in Amma, everything will go well for the devotee and She protects them. There are 8 Sowbhagya Ashtanga items listed in Agni puranam and Amma is present in all of these items, they are: Sugarcane, Peepul tree, Cumin, Coriander, Cow Milk, Cow Yogurt, Cow Ghee, Salt, Flowers, Kumkum and Turmeric. Vairagyam is Sowbhagyam. Mental steadiness, courage, detachment and equinimity are all Vairagyam.
- Bhaktipriyaa
Bhakti - devotion priyaa - beloved Love and Devotion are required to see God. Upasana, tatwa vicharana and Vedanta Vicharana requires pure devotion. Rajasic, Tamasic and Satvic Bhakti is not real Bhakti. For moksha, devotion to God is required. Pure devotees are liked by Amma and Bhakti is the foundation for vedanta upasana.
- Bhaktigamyaa
Bhakti - devotion Gamya - goal Bhakti path(margam) consists of Prema(love) and Anuragam(affection). While following Dharma and the love that flows incessantly towards Amma from her devotee is Bhakti. In Bhakti margam(path) the devotee worships his/her Dear God. In Gnana(knowledge) margam(path), doing tatwa vicharana and praying the nirguna Brahman, Gnanam(knowledge) is achieved.
- Bhaktivasya
Bhakti - Devotion vasya - keeping under control or attraction to Amma submits to her devotees pure and sincere love and devotion. Dedicating oneself to God is pure devotion. Real Bhakthi is only love, devotee should not have jealousy and hatred.
- Bhayapaha
Amma dispels the fear of devotees Adyathimika bhayam : fears for body, disease, injury.. Adhibhauthika bhayam: fear from other beings Adhidaivika bhayam: fear of natural forces Duality is the cause of fear; ignorant thinking. When all is Paramatma there is no fear. Dvaita brahanthi should be dispelled with Amma’s grace. Sorrows caused by Jamna, Jara, mruthyu & Vyadhi are dispelled by Devi. With fear there is no progress, health deteriorates. To dispel fear fill the mind will good thoughts and surrender to Amma.
- Sambhavi
Sakthi of Sambhu is Sambhavi Sambhu brings good fortune. Sambhavi mudra is done during Kundalini vidya. Keeping eyes inward on agna chakra, eyeballs upward, slightly unfocused eyes without blinking. Anatarlakshyam, inward focus. 8 yr old kumari puja if done properly confers Sukam Sham : Amma dispels the ahankara in the heart of devotees; rescues devotees from Bhava Sagaram Brahma anubhava rupini confers anandam
- Saradaradhya
Sarada - Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge and communication. The Goddess worshipped in Saradrtu(fall/winter) is Sarada. When the rains come the pollution is reduced. Likewise in our mind rajas and tamas are also reduced and tatva guna increase during this season. It is a good time to turn our thoughts towards Amma.
- Sarvani
Sarva’s love is Sarvani Sarva is Bhoomi Rupudu - guise of the earth All living beings are born, bred and die in the Iswara. Sukesi is another name; There is no difference between Sarva and Sarvani
- Sarmadayani
Sarma means happiness (brahma anandam) She is the giver of divine bliss; This doesn’t refer to material pleasures but eternal happiness. Happiness is given through knowledge
- Sankari
The namalu Sankari to Santimati are Bhavani Anga devatalu. Sham, sukam, sivam Sukam is given by siva; his sakti is Sankari. They are the mother and father of the universe, giver of happiness to their children.
- Srikari
Amma is Anugraha Swaroopam Sri = Wealth, happiness. Amma as Srikari bestows wealth, happiness, chastity and to her devotees. Ammavaru vidya is Srividya. All auspicious things are given by Ammavaru Srikari. All 8 forms of wealth, liberation and Brahmagnanam is acquired by worshipping Ammavaru. Srikarudu is Vishnu and Srikari is Amma who is Lord Vishnu’s sister, they both are not different from each other.
- Saadhvi
A woman who worships her husband as God and does rituals(vrathams) and follows to be a MahaPativrata is called Saadhvi. Sa + Adhva excellent + path is the samayacharam. Following the goal of good traditions is also the path to reach Ammavaru. She’s the vedamatha, Upasya Brahma and Jagadamba. Amma is also represented as Silavathi. Sadhuvu is the masculine, Saadhvi is the feminine form. Ammavaru and Lord Shiva are always together and indivisible.
- Sharatchandra Nibhanana
Ananamu = face Sharad ruthuvu(season) moon is like Ammavaru’s face. During Sharad season, moon is very pleasant and clear. Amma’s roopam is complete and is divine bliss. Face is the index of the mind. Manas is Amma svabhavamu and Amma’s manas is Gnanandam and is shining with Paripoorna Gnanandam.
- Shatodari
Shatodari and Shantimati, both these names is about Amma’s murthi dhyanam. Shatodari means, woman with a slim waist. Also Shatodari is the daughter of Himavantha( mountain king). There are countless number of caves on the Hima mountain, and Himavantha is the King of that mountain.
131.Shantimati
Shanti + mati = peaceful mind Amma always has a peaceful mind and this is the gnanam sthithi. Paramatma Swaroopam is Shantham(peaceful) Wherever there is Shantham there’s never any worldly disturbances or chaos. In Srichakram there are 8 avaranas(compound walls) that belong to the world, 1. Shrigaram(beauty); 2. Bhayanakam(fear); 3. Bhibatsam(destruction); 4. Adhbhutam(wonder); 5. Karuna(compassion); 6. Hasya rasam(humor); 7. Veera rasam(courage); 8. Raudram(anger) The 9th avarana or the top of the Srichakram, in the bindu is where Ammavaru resides in complete Parama Shantham(gnana sthithi). Amma is the chaitanyam(energy) and She’s beyond all these avaranas.
- Niraadhara
Niraadhara to Neeraga Raagamadani, these names talk about the Gneya Brahma Varnana, that is “realization of Brahma through meditation”. Also called Sri Gayatri svapura varanam. Ammavaru’s chaitanyam is always present. Due to this presence there are all these modifications or changes in the world. Spiritual aspirant should be in this world and aspire for Nirvikara Brahma (formless Brahma). Vedanta says that to acquire Nirvikara Brahma is not an easy task. Sadhaka by worshipping Saguna Akara(with form) we can achieve the Nirguna (formless) Paramatma , with Ammavaru’s grace. Suddha Paratatwam is described as Satyam, Gnanam, Anantam, Brahma. Amma is limitless and She’s the support for the entire universe but she needs no support. Amma is the Sarvadhara Chaitanyam.
- Niranjana
anjanam = kajal; something that sticks; coating Ammavaru does not stick to anything, in other words She has no attachments. Ammavaru does not have Avidya Samparkam. Shiva and Shakti always together like Lord Shiva is the light and the illumination from the light is Ammavaru. Vedanta says that Atma Tatwam is very difficult to follow. Atma, Brahmam and Paramatma are One. Upanishads talk about Brahmam, Vedanta talks about Atma and Bhagavatulu talk about Bhagwan, to make us understand that there is only One ParaBrahma Swaroopam. Tatwic Roopam is the Gneya Roopam which in turn is Ammavaru.
- Nirlepa
lepanam = coating Amma has no attachments and She is beyond the Bhava Bandalu. Ammavaru is not attached to the Karma Sambandalu, like a water drop on a lotus leaf.
- Nirmala
malinyam = dirt Maya is also malinyam(dirt) but it cannot affect Ammavaru. There are 3 kinds of malinyam(dirt): 1. from previous births( vasanas) 2. Vasanas(karmas) from this birth 3. mental attachment to something and getting karma from it (samparka malinyam). Spiritual aspirants should concentrate on Ammavaru with Chitasuddhi.
- Nitya
Ammavaru is without change, eternal. (adhi, madhya and antam) is the change but not Ammavaru. Atma is avinashi, Amma always resides inside of atma. Deha(body) is Anitya and Atma is Nitya. Lalitha Parameshwari is always the same in all 5 states( jagrutha, swapna, nidra, turiya and turiya athitha).
- Niraakara
Ammavaru has no form. Vasinyadi Vagdevathulu have mentioned that Ammavaru has form, but in reality Ammavaru has no form,niraakara (without a form). Ammavaru took a form for her devotees and Rishis were blessed to see this magnificient form as they have followed the sastras. If sadhaka follows the same sastras like the rishis, we can also see Ammavaru and get Kaivalyam. The energy that we see in this entire Universe is Ammavaru and its hard to give a form to such vast spreading energy. Supreme Shakti( Maha Maya) with her yoga shakti has formed into Ammavaru roopam that we all are aware of to take us, the sadhaka from Saguna roopam to Nirguna Roopam.
- Nirakula
Without agitation; unruffled.
- Nirguna
Beyond the three gunas: Rajas, Tamas, Sattvic; Qualities are creations of the mind. She is pure conciousness, devoid of them.
- Niskala
In this dream world, she reminds us of iswara.
- Santa
Peaceful or waveless ocean of nectar; Devotee becomes peaceful with her worship; Devoid of all action
- Niskama
Nothing to desire; complete
- Nirupaplava
Indestructible; No disasters touch her

Changeless; Unchanging but basis for all changes

She is beyond the universe of panchabhutas

She shelters all but needs no shelter She gives life, maintains us, gives all with out partiality, as a witness she runs the world with just her divine presence.

Eternally pure; untouched
- Nitya Buddha
Amma is Gnana swaroopini and Chit Swaroopini. Amma is filled with energy(knowledge through energy). She’s awake through all the 4 states.
- Niravadya
Amma is without any defects. She’s Permanent and helps her devotees from avadya(defects)
- Nirantaraa
antaraa : obstacles Amma is without any obstacles. She’s the Akandam(indivisible) and Anantham(endless) energy(Shakti Swaroopini). Amma is undifferenciated
- Nishkaranaa
Amma has no cause. She’s the cause for everything
- Nishkalankaa
Amma is free of blemish. Amma is always Chitam, Satyam and Anandam.
- Nirupaadhi
Without any Upadhi (limitation) Maya is Iswara upadhi; ignorance is jeeva upadhi But Amma is present in all Upadhis and is not restricted to any upadhi. She is limitless
- Nirishwara
Ishwara has control over everything in this universe, but Amma drives Iswara. This is Amma’s Saguna Brahma Swaroopam. She is Supreme Here GnyaBrahman is complete
- Niraga
People suffer from 17 doshalu. Ragam, madam, moham, chinta, ahankaram,bhayam, vikalpam, dvesham,badha, parinamam, bedham,nasyam, parigraham, lobham, kriya, samsayam and papam. Atma sakti is covered up by these doshalu. Pray to Amma to get rid of them. Pairs of names from here represent the Siva & Sakti aspect Niraga: unattached; she can gives all we desire yet she is beyond all attachments.
