Lab Unit 1 Flashcards
Visual Acuity: Explain x/y vision
The subject sees the same line of letters at x feet that a normal person does at y.
Is 20/10, or 20/20 vision better?
20/10. We want the second number to be as low as possible
What is photobleaching?
When the cones are overstimulated. The remaining rods are more able to perceive after the stimulus is terminated. For example, when you stare at yellow, the red and green cones are activated, and when the yellow leaves, the blue cones are the only ones left with energy, and you see blue.
What happens to your eyes when you spin in a chair?
Your eyes drift in one direction (ears) then jerk back as you fixate on something.
Nernst
Elon = 59.16/Z *log(Co/Ci)
In the second lab, how did you decide if the second signal was an action potential?
If Sodium was higher conductance than Potassium, it was an AP.
