4. tseminiferous tubules
identify
seminiferous tubules with myoepithelial cells, 2 seminiferous tubules; cells in the base are spermatogoonia (A nd B etc), primary spermatocytes, condensed chromatine early spermatids, alargados son los late spermatid, celulas largas son sertoli

early spermatids, primary spermatids, myoepithelial cells, espermatogoonia, late spermatids, sertoli cells
identify
- spermatogonia
- primary spermatids
- early spermatids
- sertoli cells
- late spermatids
identify
late spermatid; histones have been replaces by promatines; intercellulr junctions to keep it attached to sertoli
identify
sertoli-to-sertoli blood-testis barrier; dividion de lumunal compartment and basal compartment.
microfilaments arrows, endoplasmic reticulum, tught junctions, celulas haploides
identify
leydig cells (interstitial cells) producen testosterona; most abundand SER; mitocondria ocn crrestas

a.ST=Seminiferous tubules
b. IC=interstitial (Leydig) cells
c,d,e = Sertoli cells stained with antibody to prosaposin (intracelular controlan actividad d elysosoma y extracellular es neuroprotectora)
Sertoli cells possess receptors for testosterone and FSH
identify
Leydig (Interstitial) Cells testosterone for spermatogeesis
identify
Leydig (Interstitial) Cells
identify
Leydig Cell –steroid secreting cells

Crystal of Reinke
what is cryptochidism?
Failure of testis to descend, occurs in 45 male neonates. Causes infertility, must be surgically corrected 2-3years old.
what is testicular cancer?
Interstitial and Sertoli cells tumors are rare. (95%) are germ cell tumors that appear after puberty. Seminoma is a malignant germ cell tumor.
describe male infertility
*
Decreased semen quality is a major cause of male infertility. Oligospermia: low sperm count less than 15million/ml
Azoospermia: no sperm in ejaculate
*
Abnormal sperm morphology and flagellar defects (PrimaryciliarydyskinesiaPCD)
*
Spermiation failure: spermatidsare notreleased, are retainedand phagocytosedbythe Sertoli cell.
identify
