Lab 1.1 Flashcards
Atrioventricular Valves
Found between the atrium and ventricle
(Tricuspid = 3 pockets)
(Bicuspid = 2 pockets)
Semilunar Valves
Found between ventricle and great vessel
(Aortic and Pulmonary Valve)
Pulmonary Circulation
pumps blood to the lungs for gas exchange
Systemic Circulation
pumps blood to the body so it can get nutrients and oxygen
Coronary Circulation
supplies the heart with nutrients and oxygen
Left Coronary Artery
Circumflex Artery - supplies left atrium and posterior left ventricle
Anterior Interventricular Artery- supplies anterior ventricles and interventricular septum
Right Coronary Artery
Posterior Interventricular Artery- supplies posterior ventricles and interventricular septum
Marginal Artery- supplies right atrium and right ventricle
Electrical Activity of the Heart
SA node sets the heart rate (pacemaker of the heart)
PNS slows the heart rate
SNS increase the heart rate
ECG
P Wave - atrial depolarization
QRS Complex - ventricular depolarization
T Wave - ventricular repolarization
Systole
Contraction
Diastole
Relaxation
Tachycardia
abnormally fast heart beat
Bradycardia
abnormally slow heart beat
Stroke Volume
amount of blood pumped out per systole
EDV
volume of blood in ventricle before ejection
