L22, Relative Phase Flashcards

1
Q

Objectives:

  • To understand the use of discrete and continuous relative phase
  • To apply continuous relative phase to gait and kicking
A

Summary:
- DRP used to show phase difference in timing of certain events
- CRP represents the difference in states of two variables throughout the movement
- CRP is four variables in one-two joint angles and two joint angular velocities
- Normalise data to centre phase planes around zero
- Look for how coordination changes under different constraints rather than “ideal” coordination
