Describe compulsive behaviours
Performed to reduce anxiety caused by obsessions otherwise something dreadful may happen they believe

Inappropriate thoughts leading to compulsions may reduce ability to carry out daily tasks like working effectively

To prevent anxiety triggered by situations they just avoid them
