Order of exam of knee

Answer 1

Look- any deformities, swelling, redness, psoriasis, abnormal muscle bulk/wasting, valgus and varus, and gait

Feel-
across 3 points of the knee with leg flat, and patella

90º and feel for the lateral ligaments

Temperature from quadraceps

Move-
Heel to bum and straighten- see if there’s a hyper extension

Special
- ACL and PCL- knee at 90º and push and pull the knee

• MCL and LCL- hold foot in hand and opposite press on the quadraceps from where you’re moving- move lower leg laterallly and medically to assess
