It is a journey that has a spiritual purpose, where the destination may be a sacred religious place.
What is the Magnificat?
A prayer that Mary said after she became pregnant with Jesus and visited her cousin.
What are Kingdom values?
God’s values which convey the character Kingdom of people who should have and what should be important to us.
What is Pontifical?
The Church is this because the Pope has the highest authority.
What is Conciliar?
The Church is this because it makes important decisions through councils.
What is a council?
A meeting with the Bishops to discuss issues that affect the whole church.
What does ordained mean?
Someone being set apart to be a minister.
What is the Lords prayer?
The prayer that Jesus taught to his disciples, it gives the idea of what is required for God’s kingdom to grow on Earth.
What is a Bascilica?
A large church that is not a cathedral.
What is a Dramatised prayer?
It helps a person feel more involved in the meaning of the prayer.
What are four stations of the cross?
-Jesus is condemned to death
-Jesus falls for the first time
-Jesus falls for the third time
-Jesus is nailed to the cross
How are the Stations of the Cross used as pilgrimage today?
-They walk the Stations, reflect on a short reading about the event shown, say a prayer at each one which is a form of dramatised prayer.
Why are the stations of the Cross used as pilgrimage today?
-It is a way to accompany Jesus on his last journey.
-A way to share in Jesus’ sufferings as a sign of gratitude.

Why is Lourdes important?
-It is a town in France where a young girl saw visions of Mary, who told her to dig into the ground and when she did a spring appeared.
-The water of the spring is believed to have healing powers.
Why do Catholics visit Lourdes?
-To be healed physically or spiritually by the waters.
-To feel stronger and more at peace in body and mind.
Why is Rome important?
-It is the centre of Catholic faith.
-It is where the current Pope lives.
Why do Catholics visit Rome?
-To show their commitment to the Catholic Church and their unity with the Pope and all catholics.
Why is Walsingman important?
-It is viewed as the Catholic shrine for England.
-It is a village where a noblewoman had visions of the house Mary lived in and rebuilt it.
