Horizontal integration
where different companies that produce and sell similar products together
Vertical integration
A process where one company acquires another involved at a different level of the industry

Something that has multiple meanings depending on the context
Demographics
Classified by age, gender income, jobs, etc.
Psychographics
The study and classification of people according to their attitudes, aspirations and other psychological criteria, especially in market research
Diegetic sounds
Happening in the world of the (film)
Non-diegetic sounds

Intersectionality
When 2+ classifications of a person’s gender, race, class, etc. combine to create a deeper bias or prejudice
Social realism
The realistic depiction in art of contemporary life, as a means of social or political comment
Synergy
The interaction or cooperation of 2+ organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects
Afrocentric
Regarding African or black culture as pre-eminent
Media conglomerate
A massive media company who owns lots of smaller media companies e.g. Disney
Producers
The companies who make the product
Distributors
They get the product from the production company to the circulators
Circulators
Provide ways of the audience seeing the film/ marketing (how they get to view it)
