KD is always deficient, never replete
what are some sx indicating a KD Deficiency?
- chronic low back, knee, hip, ankle, or low joint problems
- chronic night-time urination more than 1x per night
- dark blue or black circles under the eyes (brown circles indicate KD disease or organ anatomy pathology; and puffiness under eye could indicate chronic KD Xu but it could also be LU Xu so need to ask other questions)
- abdominal palpation: empty feeling under umbilicus
- U shaped hollow at root of tongue
what are some general signs indicating KD involvement?
issues with:
- lower body
- head hair
- ears
- bones, including teeth
- jing

- aching & weakness of low back

- could be either repletion or vacuity

- difficulty with urinary stream
- total blockage of urinary stream
- lower abdominal distention
UB Qi Block (though you would never say this pattern name)
TX for LU-related case: “Remove the lid from the pot” by using LU 7 to ventilate the Lung
