- Citizens have a right to seek out alternative sources of info, which are protected by law
- Citizens have right to form relatively independent associations or organizations, including independent political parties and interest groups

Does democracy lead to more efficient or more open economies
A
Not necessarily, sometimes a democracy might be in a partisan gridlock and not get anything done, and sometimes democracy may bring instability that can hinder economic growth
