Just QRH Memory Items Flashcards
Reactive wind shear
(“Wind shear, wind shear, wind shear”)
BEFORE V1
Abort Takeoff for significant wind speed variations.
Reactive wind shear
(“Wind shear, wind shear, wind shear”)
On ground, but after V1
- Thrustlevers…………………………………..TOGA
- Call “Windshear TOGA”
- Reaching VR…………………………………..Rotate
- SRS orders……………………………………..Follow
- Configuration………………………………….Maintain
Reactive wind shear
(“Wind shear, wind shear, wind shear”)
AIRBOURNE
- Thrust levers…………………………TOGA
- Call “Windshear TOGA”
- AP (ifengaged)………………………Keep
- SRSorders…………………………….Follow
- Configuration………………………..Maintain
Note:
1.AP will disengage if αreq>αprot.
2.If FDs are not available, initial pitch attitude is 17.5◦.
This should then be adjusted to minimize height loss. Full backstick can be used.
Predictive windshear
(“Windshear ahead” or “Go around, windshear ahead”)
On the Ground during take off roll.
(Is inhibited above 100kts until 80ft)
Abort Takeoff. (Will be prior to 100kts).
Predictive windshear
(“Windshear ahead” or “Go around, windshear ahead”)
During the Climb
Thrust levers………………………………..TOGA
• Call “Windshear TOGA”
• AP (if engaged) ………………………….Keep
• SRS orders…………………………………Follow
• Config may be changed if not in windshear
• AP will disengage if αreq > αprot.
Predictive windshear
(“Windshear ahead” or “Go around, windshear ahead”)
On the Approach
- Thrust levers……………………………..TOGA
- Call “Go around, flaps”
- Carry out normal go-around
- If the reactive windshear system is serviceable and positive verification is made that no hazard exists, the warning may be downgraded to a caution
If Caution: “Monitor radar display”
During approach:
• Consider Conf 3 landing
• Consider VAPP=VLS+15
Emergency descent
•Oxygen masks………………On
•Communications…………..Establish
•PF:
– Call “Emergency descent”
– Alt selector…………………..Set lower altitude,pull
–Hdg selector…………………Pull, consider turning
–Spdselector…………………..Pull, consider VMO
–If A/THR not engaged:*
Thrust…………………………….Idle
–Once speed has increased:*
Speed brake……………………Full
•PNF: –Signs................................On –Eng mode sel...................Ign –Transponder.....................7700 –ATC...................................Notify –If cabin altitude >14000ft:∗ Pax oxymasks....................Man On
TCAS
TA “Traffic,traffic”
RA “Climb! Descend!” Etc
TA:
- Call “TCAS, I have control.”
- Attempt to see reported traffic
RA:
•AP (if engaged)………………………Off
•Call “TCAS, I have control. Flight directors off”
•FDs……………………………………….Both off
•ATC……………………………………….Notify “TCASRA”
•Adjust V/S to maintain the green area on the V/S scale
•If “Climb” or “Increase climb” is triggered on final approach, a go around must be flown.
•Stall, EGPWS or windshear warnings should be respected.
When clear of conflict:
•ATC…………………..Notify “Clear of conflict, returning to…”
EGPWS
Warning “Pullup” or “Terrain, terrain pull up” or “Terrain ahead, pull up” or “Obstacle ahead, pullup”.
- AP…………………………………..Off
- Pitch………………….Pullup- use full backstick
- Thrust levers………Select TOGA
- Call “Pull up, TOGA”
- Speed brake……….Check retracted
- Bank angle…………Wings level or adjust
Note:
- For “Terrain ahead” a turning manoeuvre may be initiated if it is deemed the safest course of action.
- If daylight VMC with all obstacles clearly in sight, the warning may be downgraded to a caution.
Caution
•Correct flight path and/or configuration to silence caution
Unreliable airspeed
•Call“Unreliablespeed”
•AP/FD……………………………….Off
•A/Thr………………………………..Off
•Pitch/Thrust:
Below Thrust Red Alt. 15◦/TOGA
Below FL100. 10◦/CLB
Above FL100. 5◦/CLB
•Flaps……..CONF3 or maintain current config if less •Speedbrake……………………………………………Retract
•Landing gear………………………………………………Up
When at or above MSA, level off for troubleshooting
7 Stall Recovery
•Nose Down Pitch Control………………………….Apply
•Bank……………………………………………..WingsLevel
•When out of stall:
–Thrust……………………………Increase smoothly
–Speedbrakes………………….Check retracted
–FlightPath………………………Recover Smoothly
–If in clean configuration and below 20,000ft:
∗Flap1………………………………………….Select
Stall warning at lift-off
- Thrust…………………………………TOGA
- Pitch Attitude………………………15◦
- Bank…………………………………..WingsLevel
Loss of braking
•Call “Loss of braking”
•If autobrake selected:
–Brake pedals……………………………..Press
•If no braking available:
–Rev……………………………………………Max
–Brake pedals……………………………..Release
–Antiskid/NWS…………………………….Off
–Brakepedals……………………..Maintain 1000psi
•If still no braking:
–Parking brake……………………Short applications
Crew incapacitation
- Call “I have control”
- Priority button……………………..As required
- Cabincrew…………………………..Contact
