They were treated as slaves.
Why is Moses an important figure in Jewish history?
He led the Israelites out of slavery out of Egypt. He also received the ten commandments.
What were the achievements of Saul and David?
Saul drove off enemies. David made Jerusalem a capital and united the tribes.
Why did King Solomon build a great temple in Jerusalem?
to worship God and to have a permanent home for the Arch of the Covenant
What were the reasons for the division?
There was a financial strain, which led the Northern Israel to revolt because money was being used to build the temple. Solomon had debt, so he made the people pay heavy taxes and there was forced labor.
Who was Nebuchadnezzar?
He was the king of Babylonia that ran the Egyptians and Jews out of Syria and attacked Jerusalem twice.
